Is there a certain type of cream (not foundation) that can reduce redness of the face?

After i've been on the beach for a couple of hours my skin tends to be a little redder than usual and i was wondering if anyone knew any type of cream that isn't too expensive that i could buy in Australia or New Zealand that reduces the redness of the face? Thx =]Is there a certain type of cream (not foundation) that can reduce redness of the face?
do you have eucerin or aveeno products there? they both have great redness relief stuff. if not, look for anything with aloe, oatmeal, chamomile or lavender in it.Is there a certain type of cream (not foundation) that can reduce redness of the face?
See Your Doctor ---

It's possible you have a skin disease called Rosacea.

If you continue getting these red outbreaks and it is Rosacea -- you could be causing irreversible damage to your skin.

The red burn can also lead to melanoma/skin cancer.

Your Doctor/Dermatologist can recommend a great sunscreening lotion to protect you.
Yes, use the Av猫ne brand. It is really good.

Can cream foundation stain skin?

I have skin slightly darker than the average white person. I'm in drama class and basically I'm going to wear really dark foundation (the darkest cream foundation I could find in the CoverGirl Queen collection). The I'm wondering is, could it possibly stain my skin permanently if it gets in a cut? What if I have a few small holes from popped pimples, could it stain there? Can cream foundation stain skin?
Very doubtful -- not only do I think the FDA makes certain that makeup won't do that before it's allowed to go on the market, you'd only manage that if you were actively trying in the first place -- you would need to keep a constant coat of makeup on your skin for several days as the wound heals and never wash it off, and then you might get a SMALL amount of pigment in there.

If you plan to just use makeup in the normal fashion, don't worry about it.Can cream foundation stain skin?
I doubt it just your clothes

iv never had that problem

How to apply cream foundation?

so i bought this cream foundation and it comes with a little sponge, but i was wondering if i could use a brush and what kind of brush would be good to use.How to apply cream foundation?
sponge would probably be the best because it's cream. a brush may leave it streaky. How to apply cream foundation?
I love MAC ones!!! I also like NYX Professional brushes. Even sophia Kasuk has some good ones. If you want to get ones under $20 then go to the drugstore and the brushes area and find a brush that is below. Also Clinique has good ones made from horse hair (don't worry the horse wasn't harmed) and it is supposed to help you skin and aply the foundation on perfectly!

Is okay for guy to wear foundation cream if he has pimples and some freckles?

i am 18 (straight), and i look ten times better when i use a foundation cream on my face. should i continue using it ?

if it looks natural then wear it... but its also not a natural thing for guys to wear coverupIs okay for guy to wear foundation cream if he has pimples and some freckles?
Yes, it's okay to use it. But, instead of using it everywhere, try to get a good concealer. Obviously you won't want a cheap one from Walgreens because they can look cakey. So, go to the Clinique counter at Macy's, and have the women show you a color that matches your skin tone and type perfectly.

No matter how natural you think the concealer looks under the lights of your bathroom mirror, many times, you can tell when foundation is on, especially along the line of the chin, since you probably don't know that you should keep applying halfway down your neck, to avoid the line. (At least, I hope you don't know, and that's why I'm telling you).

Clinique products are a little pricier, but since your using it to cover up pimples and imperfections, the products are actually very good for your skin.

At all costs, avoid eyeliner, lipstick, and mascara. There is no reason a guy should use those.

Good luck.
if youre single and dont plan on being with anyone, then i guess its ok. but otherwise that isnt really attractive, and i personally(a 19 year old girl) dont wear any kind of make up and ive only worn makeup twice in my life, for headshots...and i have a face like a babys bottom....and i think freckles are really cute, and like natural life stamps on your face, i have a few and i actually wish i had a few more, and i know some guys who have em and it makes em different and cute...and as for the pimples, if you use lots of chemical loaded acne cleansers then foundation on top of that, youre not gonna have great skin...and youre only 18 and you have so many years to come, so let your skin breathe and be natural, and to get rid of your pimples just get a super hot rag and press it on to your face 3 times a day. and youll release your pores of all that nasty stuff that produces pimples. =) believe me. =)
so its fine but don't cake it on and make sure your rub it in i know a guy who is straight and does it and theres a line at this jawline and his face is like 2 shades darker than his auctual colour just make sure you pick the right shade and since your using foundation cream it will look more natural that using foundation itself
no, it is not ok. makeup never looks 100% natual. instead, take better care of your skin. get on an acne treatment regimine, and wear sunscreen. personally, I love freckles, especially on guys.
Sure its fine..Don't let any girls give you any slack for it though..Every one wants to look better..Just don't start carrying it around in a satchel(guy purse)
I think it that's fine.

I mean your doing it to make yourself look better and if it looks 100% natural, than just keep using it (:
yeah I thinks its fine

Would putting cream foundation like everyday on my face affect me later?

Well I'm 15 and have bad acne marks and acne.I put a sasha cream foundation on my face everyday when im going to school.I dont use mostirizer i just wash my face and put some fair and teens then put the paste. Will it affect my face when i get older?please and thanks!Would putting cream foundation like everyday on my face affect me later?
Just be sure you take it off before you go to bed. It can create wrinkles when you get older.Would putting cream foundation like everyday on my face affect me later?
Be sure to buy non-comedogenic makeup. That means it will not clog your pores while wearing it (and clogged pores make bad pimples). Also, I know it seems silly, but you should be wearing a non-comedogenic moisturizer. It's weird thinking you should wear moisturizer when you have acne, but a good moisturizer can HELP your acne. I've always liked Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturizer--it has good moisturizers in it that will soothe acne inflammation, AND it has salicylic acid in it, that will help fight acne.

Good luck with it! I used to have acne on my cheeks all the time, and I still get occasional pimples by my chin.

Even facial tone and a good foundation cream?

Could someone help me determine a good product to even my skin tone (I am African) and a great foundation that focuses on black skin and works. Also I need a good lip gloss.Even facial tone and a good foundation cream?
Bare Escentuals mineral foundation is a great foundation. It isn't a cream, but the powder is very velvety and creamy and blends really well. They have a wide variety of shades. Check out their shade finder, it might help you figure out what shade would match you best. I haven't tried their lip glosses yet, and I'm not big on them in general, so sorry I can't help you there.

Instead of a stippling brush (like MAC 187), can I use a kabuki to apply liquid or cream foundation?

Will the bristles from a kabuki brush allow you to apply the liquid foundation evenly onto the skin despite it not having duo fiber bristles? Because kabuki brushes have more choices (a lot more different brands carry them at different price points) than a stippling brush.Instead of a stippling brush (like MAC 187), can I use a kabuki to apply liquid or cream foundation?
I would reccomend a blush brush to apply foundation, especially the angled ones. I think sonia kashuk has one you can get at target.

Kabukis absorb too much of the foundation, and you will go through your supple much fasterhttp://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

it looks like this but you can get it at target.Instead of a stippling brush (like MAC 187), can I use a kabuki to apply liquid or cream foundation?
yes you can. i've heard people use the MAC 109 (contour brush) to apply cream foundation b/c it gives it more of an airbrushed finish. but before you head to MAC to spend $32 on that brush, check out your local drugstores and check out their brushes. alot of times they have ';buy one, get one 50%';... and you could get 2 brushes for the price of ONE MAC brush. i recently seen walgreens having a sale on makeup brushes and i saw stippling brushes as well as kabuki brushes for ';buy 1, get 1 50%';. so yea... you can use a kabuki brush, contour brush, or any brush that is densely packed.

just make sure you blend blend blend.
i have a BareMinerals Kabuki brush which is like my favorite brush . and just a plain little one, and that's the one i use to apply cream foundation. (:

and it works pretttty good.
kabuki is mainly used for powder material.

Im having a bit of trouble blending my foundation stick (Clinique City Stick) to my face! If I blend with my fingers it looks funny, if I use foundation brush it still looks like I have PASTE on! How do I blend in my foundation to my face? Is makeup sponges specifally for this?

thanks.Question about cream foundation and makeup sponges?
take a make up sponge and get it a little moist and use just a little of the foundation stick and that should make it blend easier and look more natural. if you want more coverage just go over the area a couple more times.Question about cream foundation and makeup sponges?
Wash and dry your hands. Rub some of the makeup stick in the center of your palm. The warmth of your hand will help soften the product. Using a cosmetic wedge that you have dampened and wrung out well, dapple the product over your face. Continue going over your face until you have the coverage you want. Apply your darker or lighter foundation the same way if you contour your face.

This technique also applies to creme blush and eye color. Theatrical makeup artists use their hands as palettes all the time.
apply primer first if you don't also make sure you let it set for a good 5 minutes. this will help smooth out your complexion and fill any gaps in.

Use a sponge and pat it into the skin-it takes a bit longer then just spreading it on but it blends in better.
Why would you possibly want to put makeup on???

    You are So beautiful

Trust me natural is the best!!!!!! Inner natural beauty shows through most of all.
yep, try using a little moisturizer with it so it blends easier.

How come guys use foundation cream i think theyd better use concealers?

I see some guys use foundation cream no matter they look great as the movie stars, but i find it very embarassing, i think they had better use concealersHow come guys use foundation cream i think theyd better use concealers?
My boyfriend has a bit of Roscea (sp?) on his face, meaning that his cheeks and nose are always a bit red.

He gets embarassed by it so I suggested make-up.

We first tried concealer. All kinds of concealer. It just seemed to make him break out in pimples.

So then we moved onto foundation. None of the foundations we have used have made him break out.

I think that a lot of concealers are grease based, and so make men get blemishes more than women as their skin is already more oily.

But by using a water based foundation, we were able to find a pimple free solution.

I guess you just have to find what works for you.

But, as a MUA, I find that concealer doesn't give a very even finish if you wear it on it's own, and so if you were to wear concealer, it'd be best to wear a little foundation or powder as well to even your skin tone out a little.

You probably have the wrong shade of foundation, or the foundation you have is really cheap. When I have to do my makeup on the go, I apply it with my fingers and never have a problem with blending. I would recommend using a makeup sponge when applying foundation. The oil and bacteria from your fingers could clog your pores. Oh, and if you decide to use a makeup sponge, make sure that you wash it with hot water under the tap and let it air dry.I really need help with applying cream foundation?

I use liquid foundation and I find that a wedge sponge works best. You don't get messy, and it spreads it evenly. :)
I just bought these foundation sponges at Target. They are big and round and beige. They blend my foundation perfectly.
try wetting the sponge even though the foundation is liquid. I know that if you use the wet sponge with other types of foundation it makes it less ';cakey'; looking and less obvious you even have anything on your face, at all.

I think you should still apply the foundation with your fingers then wet the sponge to blend.
The best way to apply a liquid foundation if you use one is with a foundation brush which you can find anywhere, put a dab of foundation on your hand and then dip your brush in it and apply it to your face, it will be more even and more natural looking. Also you won't get your hands all messy.
kay your apply it right it seems.

    try a different foundation.

or it is not your shade.

    or trying 'massaging' it in.

Try rubbing some neat washing up liquid on the stain before washing.

For future reference, wipe with baby wipes when make-up dries, before washing.
Rub a small amount of washing-up liquid or soap on the stain and wash again at the highest possuble temperature. Should hopefully work.

How to apply cream foundation with a sponge?

I really need step by step help. Tips. ThanksHow to apply cream foundation with a sponge?
Applying with a sponge is a lot harder than applying with your finger tips. Sponges tend to make things look uneven.

    1. Choose a sponge with a unique shape, not too big, not too small, not too blunt on edges, and make sure it is soft.

    2. apply foundation to your cheek bones, chin, nose, and forehead. (you only need a pea sized amount in each place)

    3. Take sponge and blend the cheek foundation outwards in circles making sure that you blend everything evenly, all the way to your ears, and down your cheek bones to your jaw line. It doesnt hurt to blend into the beginning of your neck as well.

    4. Blend the chin area outwards to your lower jaw area.

    5. Blend the nose up and down, then to the sides, and pay attention to those pesky little creases on the sides of your nostril. Blending is especially important here because those creases tend to flake and look icky if it is not blended evenly.

    6. Blend the forehead up and out, between the eyebrows, and your temple area.

Also, make sure to cover every crevice on your face. It also helps to use a powder concealer that is one shade lighter than your natural skin tone. Apply that beneath your eyes, the sides of your nose, and on any blemishes.

I really recommend using Maybelline Pure Makeup. It has water in it, which makes it SUPER easy to blend. It looks amazingly natural, and its cheap. Other foundations tend to be thick and gross.

Most importantly use a new sponge after ever 4 applications. They collect bacteria.

Like I said in the beginning, its much easier to do that same process with your fingers. They can reach smaller places that may be hard to blend with a sponge.

    Sorry about the mouthful. %26lt;3

    (I FOUND IT VERY FAR)

Is frequent usage of cream foundation harmful for your skin?

Can it cause earlier ageing? Is frequent usage of cream foundation harmful for your skin?
No, you just need to make sure your product doesn't contain lanolin which enlarges pores and gets lodged in them. Also, you should wash it off at the end of the day. At night your skin wants to regenerate and it is better if you don't leave make up on while sleeping. Your pores ';open up'; during sleep to purge oils and impurities so leaving make up on would make that harder for your skin to do. Also, it is not a good idea to sleep with any product with any SPF in it.Is frequent usage of cream foundation harmful for your skin?
    Possibly.

Lots of makeups actually contain harmful toxins, carcinogens, chemicals... etc. If you look at the ingredients on makeups, the longer the list, the more harmful it is. This includes moisturizers, shampoos, deoderants, sunscreen and other cosmetics. Because FDA guidlines don't regulate cosmetics, they can put pretty much whatever they want into their products, and they don't have to test it, or get it approved or anything.

Since a lot of these products contain harmful chemicals, you use up to 25 of them per day, piling onto the chemicals. 70% of what you put on your skin is absorbed meaning you're absorbing these chemicals. Especialy cream/liquid foundation- plus it clogs your pores and makes your skin oily.

These chemicals can lead to cancer, birth defects and early aging. There is a compact that 600+ makeup companies have signed saying that they will not use harmful toxins in their makeups... I suggest you look into switching to one of those makeups that work just as well. Bare Minerals is a good choice. While it's not completely harmless, it is much much better than other makeups.

Most natural makeups are good- but be careful because some might trick your just by saying it INCLUDES natural ingredients. You want to look for all natural makeup. Check out these websites:

-- you can look up your different makeup products on here and see just how harmful they are, and what kinds of specific problems it can cause you.
It depends on the brand, if it is a good brand with moisturizer and sun protection, then it can actually be good for your skin. But you should make sure to wash it off every night and follow with a good moisturizer. I use Estee Lauder products and I have seen a huge improvement of my skin!
I don't think it can, if you make sure you wash it off daily and moisturize.

Whats the best way to apply cream foundation?

should i use a sponge or brush? and if a brush, what kind of brush?

(i currently bought MAC's Studio tech cream foundation... and i just want to know the best way to apply it) Thanks.Whats the best way to apply cream foundation?
always go for a brush over a sponge. not only is it cleaner, it doesn't absorb the product like a sponge would. the sponge would waste alot more product. spot clean your brushes often, and deep cleanse them once a week (if youre applying everyday). also, brushes are alot easier to blend, so your makeup will look alot better.

the 190 is amazing for liquid/cream foundation but the 187 is the best brush ive ever used for any product. its very versitile and your makeup looks blended out/airbrushed everytime. great for blushes too (i have the 188 AND 187, one for foundation, one for blush). if youve got a heavily pigmented blush, its really idiotproof when using the 187 cuz it makes sure u dont apply too much.Whats the best way to apply cream foundation?
Here is how I do it, I got this from the book Carmindy's Five Minute Face:

    1. Wash and dry your face, and apply all the facial lotions and everything before you begin.

    2. Dot foundation in tiny dot around your face only where you need it most (mine is my T-zone and the sides of my forehead)

Here is a great place to put it:

Between your brows ubove the bridge of your nose; on either sides of you eyes, above your brows, smack dab in the center of you cheek bone, and some on your chin and the lower sides of your mouth.

Use tiny, sheer dots so that it won't be caky and too much product built up on the surface of your skin.*

    3. Blend in using clean, dry hands. Blend in your nose in gentle circular motions, your cheek bones blend upward, and from the place between your brows, upward and up above your brows.

    4. Continue to blend, and blend in a shee ramount over your eyelids.

    5. Go over your handy work with a slightly damp wedge spounge, and do all of this in natural daylight if possible.

    5. Follow up with concealer where you need it, and then blush and then powder, eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara, brows, lipstick, etc.
using a sponge can get pretty heavy but i don't like using them in general.

a good brush for applying studio tech is actually the 109 i've seen a lot of youtube tutorials with people using the 109 and studio tech and it really looks flawless.

but if you don't want to use the 109 i would stick with the good old 187 :)

    good luck!

I like to use a sponge because it keeps things simple and clean. But that's my opinion. You can take it or leave it, its up to you.

Is it okay to apply liquid/cream foundation with fingers?

I heard that brushes are best when it comes to applying foundation. I'm 15 and I have uneven skin with so much bumps all over my forehead. My friends suggest that I start using foundation. I want to get liquid or cream foundation cuz I think powder foundation is too drying for me but I don't want to have to buy a brush. Is it okay to use just your fingers? Is it okay to apply liquid/cream foundation with fingers?
yes, and it gives the most natural look too.

Wash hands b4 to rid them of xcess oil and make sure to apply in a downward stroke to smooth any hairs that are on your face. Also your skin lays in layers much like shingles on a house (if you look microscopically) so when you go in a downward motion it smooths them down and helps even out the skin.

Cream foundation is best to use if your skin is dry and you need full coverage. It is also easier to apply w/ a sponge and usually comes with one, but needs to be replaced frequently to keep bacteria from spreading, Beaing 15, a liquid would probably be best for you, especially with the warmer months coming. Is it okay to apply liquid/cream foundation with fingers?
fingers work...twas what i used for a long time

but there are those makeup wedges that are really great too

they are cheap and easy to find (really anywhere)
    yes
I am 15 years old too.

make sure the foundation matches completely with your skin tone, so it could look even and natural.

    Good luck!
you have oil on your fingers, and depending how you put it on sometimes all its doing it rubbing off what you are putting on. try using a sponge.
yes it is okay. just make sure you wash your hands before doing this so there is no bacteria or oil
Yes, I do...dab it on until it blends.
yea i use my fingers to apply foundation every day
Finger tips are ok if you:

    1) Be sure YOU are the only person using it~

    2) Wash it off EVERY night! There is an old saying that I have always believed in~ '; Every night you go to bed with your makeup on...ages your skin four days~';

    3) Be sure your hands are VERY clean each time, HOWEVER~

If those ';uneven bumps'; are pimples, or acne, you don't want to be clogging your pores with cover-up makeup. There is a tinted acne medication made by Clearasil, and I am sure there are other brands, but I would stick with good brand name products.

You only get ONE FACE...Don't risk ruining it!!!

I started my daughters using good makeup, Merle Norman, when they were teens, and they, as well as myself, still use it today. We all three get compliments on our complexion. Different things are important to different people. Some people don't care about their skin, but they care about some other part of their body. It's all good! : )

I am not trying to brag, just make you aware of how important it is to take care of your face/skin, if it is important to you.
    yeah
yeh just wash your hands and stuff before u do it tho

becareful about applying foundation to your bumps because they could just get worse so use somehting oil free and if anythign.. skip the foundation.. exfoliate and use acne cream and lol get bangs
Yeah, but when you use your fingers, it usually dosent spread evenly, and the oils from your fingers get onto your skin which causes even more breakouts.

One thing i would suggest (which i use) is round or triangle sponges. its only 3 or 4 dollars for like a pack of 10! you should onnly keep one sponge for like a week if you use it everyday.

    hope i helped! :)
    make-up sponges are best

I wear Mary Kay day radiance cream foundation in the color delicate beige, what is the next darker shade?

I have noticed that it does not cover as well as it used to. I thnk i may need a darker shade but i still want mary kay day radiance cream. it feels nice on my skin. i have some imperfections to cover up also. %26lt;a few dark spots on my cheek%26gt;. I have oily skin. What would you suggest? Is mary kay concealer as good as i have heard? I hear the yellow comcealer will cover up dark spots. Thanks!I wear Mary Kay day radiance cream foundation in the color delicate beige, what is the next darker shade?
If you have oily skin you should be using Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation not Day Radiance Cream. Day Radiance is for dry skin and will make your skin more oily. But if you like Day Radiance the next shade is True Beige. You should use Medium Foundation Beige 304 or Beige 400. Mary Kay Concealer is great for your dark spots. I would suggest Mary Kay Concealer in Beige or Concealer in Yellow to cover your skin imperfections.

If you need more info or to buy visit my website http://marykay.com/mgunther2I wear Mary Kay day radiance cream foundation in the color delicate beige, what is the next darker shade?
Contact your consultant for her to match you with a foundation in the Medium coverage. Oily skin tones should use the Meduim coverage. If you are truly a beige, there are several beige families. You will need to be matched with the perfect shade according to your tone. The numbers at the end of the shade dictates how dark, pink, or neutral you are.

The Medium foundation is what I use and love it. Very light weight.

How to apply cream foundation with a sponge HELP?

thank youHow to apply cream foundation with a sponge HELP?
place the foundation first on ur skin that way it won't get all absorbed by the sponge... start with lil dots not too close together cuz then would have placed alot... just like two in ur forehead ,one in the middle and at each sides. One on ur nose .... a couple on ur cheek... and chin .Then even it out with the sponge.Remember don't apply thick dots cuz then u will have too much foundation. And don't forget about ur neck too. That way your face won't look painted. Try to extend the foudation to ur neck with the sponge. good luck! How to apply cream foundation with a sponge HELP?
just dab the sponge in the foundation (or pour a little on) and put it o your skin . and no you do not need to wet it.
i put the foundation on my face with my fingers. then go with the sponge and smooth it threw my face. with the tip of the sp0nge not the whole thing.
the best way to apply cream foundation with a sponge is, use a fine mesh natural sponge dampen it first with a little warm water, then evenly apply to face aand neck gently.
you can do it wet or dry. If you dampen the sponge a little it should help you spread and blend better. Also try a foundation primer. They help the foundation go on smoothly and stay put!
i put little dots of cream on parts of my face and then rub it in with the sponge :)
Uh put the sponge in the foundation and apply to your face moving outwards from your nose...Videojug has some good videos.

I put a big blob on and then put a bit on my forehead cheeks chin and nose. Then i rub it in and use the exes down my neck so it look natural.
just put a little bit of foundation on the sponge then apply it to your face, make sure to blend it evenly
Literally squeeze a little foundation onto a makeup sponge and then apply to your face (wiping the sponge on your face) - applying more foundation to the sponge, as necessary.

Then use the sponge to fully blend - eliminating any streaks or lines - for a matte effect, finish by lightly brushing translucent powder, over the top.

Basically, practice the technique, until you're happy with the result.

    Good luck - I'm sure you'll look beautiful! :)

What mac brush is best used to apply cream foundation?

I am going to buy Studio Tech because A, I love cream foundations, and B, ive heard sooooo many good things about it! But I have no idea what brush to use? What mac brush is best used to apply cream foundation?
Studio Tech? I hated that foundation when i had it, it made my skin so shiny and didn't give me the full coverage i wanted, and i had to cover it up with bronzer...

But hey, who am i to discourage you . I just went on the MAC website , and they have an interactive brush finder. It's freaking cool lol you can describe your type of foundation and what you're using the brush for and it will narrow down your results . Hope I helped! What mac brush is best used to apply cream foundation?
I wear studio tech and i find that the 187 or 188 (if you want to be more precise...its smaller) works best...Do not use the 190 it leaves streaks...YUCK!!! Dab the foundation on your face dont blend...only blend down your neck to connect the foundation to the rest of you so it doesnt look like your wearing a mask because foundation tends to do that...also if you have oily skin ..its good for oily skin wear just a little bit because if you wear too much it will make you oily..i got oily after just a few hrs when i wore too much of it. not as much as with their liquid foundation but still pretty oily...dont forget to seal it with powder to make it last longer...Mineralized skin finish is PERFECT for this...the best way to apply it is with a kabuki brush

What is a good cream foundation or dual foundation make-up you an apply with a sponge, that is paraben-free?

The paraben-free websites mostly focus on non-makeup items and sites like Aveda and Clinique refer you to a toll-free number. I would prefer something I can try out in a department store. I don't care for the mineral powders much...TIA for any recommendations. What is a good cream foundation or dual foundation make-up you an apply with a sponge, that is paraben-free?
If you live near a Sephora or Ulta, LORAC makes a foundation called ';Natural Performance'; foundation that is fragrance and paraben free. It's pretty expensive ($40!) but a little of it goes a very, VERY long way. And the packaging is fantastic, and very sanitary.

But definitely go in and check the colors. I thought I bought the right one and then I had to bring it back about a week later because I was looking super splotchy. If they had the right color for me, I would've hung on to it.

What cream foundation used to come in a black and white rectangular compact?

I purchased it around 1997/1998. I used to use this cream foundation and would like to try it again. The bottom half of the compact was black and the cover was white. I remember I had to order it from my hair stylist.

I thought it started with an M, but I am not sure. What cream foundation used to come in a black and white rectangular compact?
i cant give you the name of the same one cuz i was only born in 1995 but try elizabeth arden creme foundation its amazing its a black rectangle compact hope i helped xoxo

    Cream foundation?

I have a liking for cream foundation...and currently am on a lookout for good cream foundation. I don't like liquid foundation.

I saw that Revlon has a very interesting cream foundation....

so, can anyone tell me whether it's good. or mabe recommend me a good one.Cream foundation?
I would reccomend MAC Cosmetic Studio Tech. It's a cream to powder foundation. Meaning it's a cream going on but sets as a flawless powder finish. A tri-system blend of water, emollients and powder. Looks solid, glides on as a soft, creamy emulsion. Provides a natural matte, powder-perfect finish. Smooth to blend, easy to work with: provides a full range of coverage. Water-cooled - refreshes and hydrates skin. Light diffusing: softens lines, creates a fresh, flawless finish. Good on all skin types. Studio Tech is dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested, non-acnegenic and safe for contact lens wearers.

Or you can try MAC Select Moistureblend. It's not as thick as Studio Tech. It provides a more sheer finish. A creamy compact foundation blending a radiant natural-satin medium-to-buildable coverage with a silky feel. Skin pampering and conditioning: delivers moisture, provides everyday UVA/UVB and anti-oxidant protection, while micro-fine light-diffusing filters soften the appearance of fine lines. Provides dry skins with a smooth, high-comfort, moisture finish: original M路A路C fans will love it. Dermatologist-tested. Non-acnegenic.

You can use MAC Full Coverage but remember that it is very opaque. So I would sheer it down with some moisturizer when you apply it. It's the thickest foundation that MAC has to offer, it is also the same as the concealer in the pot. If provides ultimate coverage but you have to know to sheer it down or it may be too heavy for you depending on the condition of your skin. I use it for photoshoots a lot with some blotting powder and it's perfect.Cream foundation?
    mac full coverge.

've normal skin &dark circles.shud I use liquid/powder foundation&what type of concealers?don't want oily look

Help me decide my suggested products from

    1) Revlon

    2)Cover girl

    3)Maybelline

    4)Avon

    I have limited budget.'ve normal skin %26amp;dark circles.shud I use liquid/powder foundation%26amp;what type of concealers?don't want oily look
The key is not to cover the dark circles... but rather to eliminate them, altogether. They can be caused by a number of things, including: Smoking, too much sun, too much/little sleep. Dark circles aren't caused by the skin, itself, changing color. It's the blood vessels (capillaries) in the under eye area, showing through the VERY thin skin, we all have under our eyes. My suggestions are as follows: Always (and I do mean ALWAYS) wear sun screen... nothing ages you faster that ultra-violet rays. Secondly... find a good eye cream (there are many on the market that don't carry a heft price tag; Loreal, Olay, Almay... most run between $7-$25) the skin under the eye has no glands to provide natural lubrication to the delicate skin under the eye, so it's most important to protect it with a cream meant specifically for the eye area. And finally... it's summer... and liquid (be it concealer or foundation) is going to melt away with heat and sweat... go with a light dusting powder (True Match by Revlon is a good one) and with a small BRUSH (not sponge or pad) lightly apply it to the under eye area. Follow these simple rules, and you will glow.'ve normal skin %26amp;dark circles.shud I use liquid/powder foundation%26amp;what type of concealers?don't want oily look
not sure about brand but anything that contains silicone works

save up for Bobbi Brown cream concealer It costs a little over $20.00 but I have had mine for a year and i am still using it. a little works wonders!! as far as foundation I like Revlon new compexion powder cream make up compact you control the coverage and it does not look cakey.
Revlon Colorstay is thick and covers everything. However, it also sticks to the skin and it is hard to remove. If you want a better brand with the same durability, I suggest Prescriptives Flawless foundation. It is $40 but it does wonders for the skin.
none of those products are as great as Mary Kay!!! we have a FANTASTIC new highlighting pen that removes dark circles from your eyes and shadows on your face!!! also our foundation cant be beat- we aren't the number one selling brand for ten years in a row for nothing!!! and we cost about the same as over the counter!! if you would like some samples, let me know!!!
Everfresh concealer made by maybelline is the greatest.... and it only costs less than 10$ CAN per tube (it lasts me about 6 months). totally worth it for value and for coverage ;)
Avon has a product out called Anew clinical eye lift.It reduces the dark circles and gives you a eye lift at the same time.IT REALLY WORKS.I have been using it and it works great.

    http://www.youravon.com/cbrown7337
I like cover-girl, but for the dark circle, it's very very important to get the correct shade or it would worse(with wrong shade, and dark circle could look greenish), so i suggest you can go to stores like sephora to try out the shades first, then go back to drug store and find the closest shade.

A super cheap way to do, without spending anymore money and ensure the correct shade with your face/foundation, is before you start putting on make up, take a little bit of liquid foundation out on the side, make sure it's got some thinkness(in a waterdrop shape, not flat out on a surface), wait for couple min till it dry, then then use ur finger to rub it soft again. it works great (but depends on the brand u use though, the thin foundation wouldn't have as good effect) But it's worth a try before you spend money on concealer~!
get yah concealer form Maybelline. They hv a good one thats not drying. It beats even a M.A.C in my opinion. Maybelline's one hv just enuf moisture without being /feel oily... One tube last me for very very long i cant even remember........ two thumbs up.
I got this great stuff at Sally's beauty supply for dark circles. I forgot what it's called but it has a medical sounding name and costs about 20 bucks. It's perrrrfect.
i like the maybelline the best. i would recommend it in the liquid form. and with the foundation, i wouldn't use it unless you have to , it blocks up your pores. now with the powder i would recommend just putting some on the t- zone and any other parts that tend to get oily through out the day.

Do i need 2 one for under my eyes ( a stick) and one for my blemishes? (liquid) or can i use a a stick or liquid for both? my skin is pretty normal it sometimes get's slightly oily but once i wash it it's good for the day it doesn't get oil unless well it's rare. I get blemishes, big red ones sometimes white heads and i think they're black heads (they're brownish and don't go away don't hurt but are there and small) i have medium lightish very light olive skin HELP!!! THANK YOU! :)Do i need 2 different concealers-1 stick and 1 liquid one for under eye darkness and liquid for blemishes?
Having both types could be helpful when you are in different situations. Do i need 2 different concealers-1 stick and 1 liquid one for under eye darkness and liquid for blemishes?
Well I have 2 liquids. One is my skintone color and ones a shade lighter. I use the lighter one for covering up my undereye circles and the normal one for blemishes. Liquid just works much better in my opinion =]
It makes no difference whether you use stick or liquid. That is personal preference. However, you should use different colors for under-eye-circles and blemishes. Since you want to brighten up the skin under your eyes, you should use a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone and since you want your blemishes to blend in with the rest of your skin, you want it to be the same color so use a concealer that is the same as your skin tone for that. And always make sure you set the liquid or stick with powder after applied so it will stay in place and not just come off.

    Hope I helped =]

Are liquid concealers any good ?

u have quite dry skin and my current No 7 concealer seems to be makin it worse and drying it out more. does anyone know if a liquid or cream concealer would be any better ? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. i live in ireland so just it and UK products please. Are liquid concealers any good ?
the best concealer around is Yves Saint Lauren 'Touche Eclet' (may have spelt it wrong!) it reflects light away from the area, its good for puffiness under the eyes, blemishes etc. they sell it in Boots :)Are liquid concealers any good ?
YSL Touche Eclat is the ONLY one
I like them better than the powder, becasue then with the powder, it become flaky. Not with the liquid.
benefit undereye concealers are the BEST!

I've tried many different ones, including the no.7, bodyshop and the YSL, but they cover not as well as the benefit ones.
liquid concealers have gave me good results. I would say to moisturize 10 minutes before applying the concealer.
Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals is great, if you use a tight brush it works fantastic as concealer - very good coverage but doesn't look like makeup at all - and wont dry out at all. It's great stuff. I'm sure they sell it there. Do you have a store like Sephora that sells all types of beauty lines? If not my mom just bought some on www.qvc.com.
You can either put a moisturizer on twice a day (at night and in the morning) or buy a concealer with a built in moisturizer.
There are some moisturisers you can get with concealer in, I've seen them advertised on tv but I can't remember who makes them. Sounds like that's what you need, just ask in your local chemist.
Have you tried putting on eye cream before your concealer? That usually helps. I use liquid concealers sometimes but they can be on the sheer side as far as coverage goes.
yes! liquid concelaers r way betta!!!!!
Put on concealer after foundation. I use a solid concealer and paint on with a tiny brush, so I only put it where I need it.

I've always found No.7 products to be rubbish ( I have pale, dry skin). Try the Body Shop if you're not too pale, or Bourjois.
Liquid concealers are best if used in conjunction with a powder to stop them sliding off your face. Bobbi brown do a fantastic concealer with powder included in a double-compact. It even comes with a free powder puff. You can buy the brush for application seperately. Apply your concealer fater your foundation, so that you don't rub away all your hard work. It's also easier to blend that way. x
If a water based concealer is already drying you out STAY away from the bare minerals - they will make it worse try Amazing Cosmetics Amazing concealer - it's expensive but it will last you 9 mos to a year
I suffer with eczema so get very dry skin an have tried lots of concealers i have found one which works really well it is oil of olay with a built in moisturiser maybe you should give this a go .
    yes the Mac one
The number one thing you want to do if you have overly dry skin is to moisturize with a good lotion twice a day. You should be cleansing it %26amp; using a toner/astringent as well, but use the astringent less, as it will dry out your skin. My skin's kind of crazy- dry one day, oily the next, but I've found that matte foundations, when used in the right amount, work as concealers. They have a soft, silky smooth finish, and there are lots of colors to choose from- that's something I have trouble with. I use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, but I'm not sure if that's sold in Ireland/UK. Hope I helped!

Does anyone else feel like putting on liquid makeup feels like you're putting concealer all over your face?

:)Does anyone else feel like putting on liquid makeup feels like you're putting concealer all over your face?
    yeah. i do too. i don't like itt :P

so i wear powder with a concealer underneath, and it feels lighter.

(:Does anyone else feel like putting on liquid makeup feels like you're putting concealer all over your face?
Yeah! It makes my face feel like it can't breath, I guess you could say. That's why I wear powder makeup when I do wear it at all. I usually don't wear makeup though. Lol.
yes! or it just feels like i'm wearing those face masks around town...so i dont use it. i wear bare minerals :D

Why would anyone use concealer stick rather than liquid for eyes?

There is the under eye concealer STICK which is harsh. The LIQUID one is soft %26amp; ideal for under the eyes.

Using the stick will have you to rub with your fingers, which causes wrinkles.

I've also seen a girl using her concealer brush, smudging it against the stick to apply under her eyes. It's here.

    http://www.expertvillage.com/videos/make鈥?/a>

I'm wondering why would she do that too. Plz help. Why would anyone use concealer stick rather than liquid for eyes?
You know, I don't know why that would be the sensible thing to do either. I use liquid concealer that is made JUST for the eyes, because that is a really delicate area that should never be tugged at or rubbed often! I get the same coverage but a BETTER look when I use liquid. It's so much more natural looking without the thick cakey look. Why would anyone use concealer stick rather than liquid for eyes?
it's thicker so it provides better coverage. i use it sometimes, but i dab, not pull/smudge/rub lol lotsa words for it!

Can liquid foundation and powder concealer be mixed?

I have bad acne marks, so I use Everyday Minerals Intensive concealer, it's a mineral concealer. I just found a foundation that I LOVE today, it's Chanel Teint Innocence, and it has stayed on me all day. Normally I also wear a mineral powder foundation, but I want to mix the EM concealer and the Chanel foundation. Is this possible to do or will putting on the Chanel liquid foundation with a sponge rub off all of the EM powder concealer? Can liquid foundation and powder concealer be mixed?
Sure I do this every day with my Clinique liquid foundation. and my bare essentuals concealer. just apply your foundation before the concealer. if you want since it is powder you can apply a thin coat of pressed powder to set your foundation before you apply your concealer.

    it will still work.

I know that people say you are supposed to apply concealer then foundation but i do the reverse and i look fine every day.

even with liquid and stick concealer. Can liquid foundation and powder concealer be mixed?
    yep!

    put the liquid on first.

    let it dry.

    put on your dry power.

    i do it everydayy!
try to put the liquid foundation first then the powder concealer!

    powder seals the foundation.

please choose one!!! i cant really go to deparment stores without my mom finding out, she doenst let me use make up. but i really need it.Which concealer is better: liquid or stick?
    Get the maybelline stick.

It will probably cover better. Don't get the wet n wild one, because wet n wild is cheap and just a horrible makeup line.

You don't need to put anything over concealer.. but you may want to get some sheer loose powder to just dust over your face after putting on concealer to give off a more natural look.Which concealer is better: liquid or stick?
I think it is completely personal preference. Is it possible you can try both?

I would go with the stick if you not putting anything else on top because the liquid may need a powder to set it

    hope this helps
personally i think that liquid is.
Liquid gives you a lighter coverage than the stick but you're young so I can't imagine it's that bad for you. I'd say use the liquid. I hope that helps and good luck!
Try a green concealer to cover redness in a stick form, put concealer onto clean skin, tap with finger to blend in. Then apply foundation over the top of concealer
i've used both stick and liquid and liquid is better for me....
It depends on the use. Stick concealer isn't meant to rub all over your face, but if you want it to, then you need to use liquid. Stick is good to put in your purse for quick touchups.
I like the liquid stuff. Its great for covering those troublesome acne spots.

    This is what I use:

Here are the best concealers, as per an independent makeup reviewer not affiliated with or paid by any one makeup company:

    L'Oreal Paris True Match Concealer

    Revlon Age Defying Concealor

Maybelling Age Rewind Double Face Pefector

Don't worry about the age part in the name, it's just marketing. For best concealer application, apply after foundation and before powder. If you apply before foundation, you'll just wipe away the concealer. The powder helps set the makeup so it won't smear.
out of those, the last one is the best. ive used it before.

but overall i think you should try purity mineral. its a full foundation kit and it comes with a concealer brush and really works well!

  • Perfect concealer: cream, stick, or liquid?

particularly for dark eye circles.. which one is best?Perfect concealer: cream, stick, or liquid?
I suggest using the MAC Select Cover-Up concealer. It is a liquid concealer, it is highly pigmented and it does a pretty good job covering my horrible dark circles. I use shade NW25. You can purchase this concealer at any MAC counter or on the MAC website (www.maccosmetics.com) for $14.50. It may seem like a lot of money, but this stuff lasts a long time and a little bit of the concealer really does go a long way.

Here is the link from the MAC website so you can check out Select Cover-Up:

Good Luck, I hope this information helped *_*Perfect concealer: cream, stick, or liquid?
some people i know put i light bulb in the freezer and in the morning right when they wake up put it on their bags, it helps right away. but for concealer otherwise, glominerals under eye concealer.
all of the above. whichever works best on you and matches your skintone and foundation if you use any.
i have dark circles, and i use the stick (works great on me) i find that the liquid gives a very ';dry'; effect and turns it kinda gray, according to me.. it depends on your skin type.. but i would recommend the stick
I've used them all, the stick works, but it doesn't have the same coverage effect as the cream or liquid does. I think liquid is the best. I use it. I've never used cream before, but i know people who do. They say it works well too. So try cream or liquid

    Concealer dry or liquid..?

    - Am pale, dry skin(quite clear),need some advice if i should use liquid or dry concealer. Generally i prefer dry concealers as to avoiding the ''sheer'' look although i dont mind . Also wondering if i should try match the colour directly to my skintone(which i struggle)..lastly are there any concealer brands you'd recommend..heard gosh was good..??Concealer dry or liquid..?
True match Loreal liquid foundation is one i would recommend for dry skin.

The first ingredient in liquid foundations is usually water and they also usually include some type of oil. These foundations are good for women with dry skin.

Mixing your foundation with moisturiser is a good tip for people with dry skin. :)Concealer dry or liquid..?
My estition told me that if you have dry skin then you should use liquid and for greasy skin use dry. But i have dry skin and i use both, i put the liquid on my bad breakouts and then put dry all over my face.
Try MOUSSE, which is in-between dry or liquid! Loreal has that. I know it's not a concealer, but it's great foundation.

generally, dry skin will go best with liquid concealer,

    oily skin with stick concealer.
umm bare minerals works greeat. And so does everyday minerals.

And yes i heard it from someone that i heard gosh worked okayy.

What kind of brush/sponge is best for spreading liquid foundation AND concealer on your face?

I mean *Due to my lack of KNOWLEDGE of makeup brushes, sponges, aplicators, etc. What kind of brush/sponge is best for spreading liquid foundation AND concealer on your face?
This is a concealer brush from Sephora. Its a little pricey, but once you get an idea of what to look for, I think you find cheaper ones.

This is a foundation brush. Same idea.

These brushes are great because you just use 'em and then wash 'em. And they're ready to be used the next day. =) I suggest brushes over sponges for that reason. They might cost a bit at first, but its an investment and you don't have to worry about bacteria, as long as you wash them regularly. You can even get some of these from Wal-Mart if you don't want to spend a million dollars.
